What is it and how does it work?

Facial exercise offers the same advantages for health and youthfulness as other forms of physical exercise. Exercising reduces tension lines while strengthening the underlying muscles that give the face its contours and firmness. With daily practice, facial exercise will reverse the signs of aging and skin damage. Eyes become bigger. Cheeks are plumper. Lips are fuller. Chins and jaw lines tighten, and the neck becomes smoother. Increased blood flow and oxygen benefits the skin, circulation and lymph system.

Most people don’t associate their faces with exercise, yet it is an area of the body that can benefit a great deal from a workout. The face is based on a foundation of bone, then shaped by muscle, cartilage, fatty tissue and finally skin. That muscle can be developed, strengthened and toned, providing a firmer face and more youthful appearance.

Simple exercises target specific areas of the face, such as the brow, chin, cheek and eyes. By isolating and exercising a muscle or group of muscles, true changes can take place in the face. Differences can be observed after just one session, while a consistent program of facial exercise will have lasting effects.

Ms. Perrone provides one-on-one coaching to ensure that each student learns the proper technique and the most appropriate exercises for their physique and needs.
